On Monday, January 20th we will hold the 38th Annual Educational Seminar at Bedford Playhouse 622 Post Rd. Bedford, NY 10506. The seminar will begin at 9am. Our 2025 theme is, “Civil Rights: Building Tomorrow Together - The Dream Lives On.”
This year, the Educational Seminar will include a special screening of the documentary “Amend: The Fight for America," about the historical efforts to enforce the 14th Amendment. That will be followed by a moderator-lead discussion with the audience. The doors will open at 9:00 am for refreshments, the film will start at 10:00 am.
The educational seminar has special programming for the youth (1st-12th grade students). The youth will participate in a service project and either the middle/high school session or elementary session. The service project will help children whose families are facing food insecurity. The youth will package a supply of meals and snacks. This is a joint effort of Antioch Baptist Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Xi Chi Omega Chapter. Seminar participants are asked to bring a donation of non-perishable food or snack items to the Bedford Playhouse on MLK Day.
